Rubber Joints

Single & / Double Sphere | DN32 - DN1200 | PN16 / ANSI 150

ZNX rubber joints (also called rubber expansion joints or flexible connectors) consist of an EPDM/NBR rubber body reinforced with nylon tire cord, fitted with galvanized ductile iron or carbon steel rotating flanges. They absorb axial, lateral and angular movement, dramatically reduce vibration transmission from pumps and equipment, and silence hydraulic shock in long pipelines.

Used at pump suction and discharge, between building risers, around chillers, boilers and any equipment that needs to be isolated from the piping system. Each joint is 100% hydrostatically tested and labelled.

  • Self-flanged integral mould — no glued joints, no leakage

Applications

  • Pump suction and discharge (vibration isolation)
  • Building HVAC risers (thermal expansion)
  • Chilled water and condenser lines
  • Seawater and desalination intake lines
  • Boiler feed and condensate lines
  • Compressor and chiller connections
  • Long straight runs requiring movement compensation

Product Series

Two flexible rubber joint series covering standard service and high-temperature / chemical service.

Series 1

Single Sphere Rubber Joint

DN32 - DN600 | PN16 | Most Common Type

The single-sphere rubber joint is the most widely used flexible connector. With one sphere of EPDM rubber, it provides large axial and lateral movement for its size while remaining economical. Standard for water, HVAC, light chemical and pump service.

Technical Specifications

Body MaterialEPDM rubber
FlangeGalvanized ductile iron, rotating
Axial Compression8 - 25 mm depending on DN
Lateral Movement8 - 22 mm
Angular DeflectionUp to 15°
Working Pressure16 bar
Working Temp.-20°C to +110°C

Key Features

  • Cost-effective flexible connector
  • EPDM body suitable for hot water, steam and seawater
  • Easily rotated flanges for bolt alignment
Series 2

Double Sphere Rubber Joint

DN50 - DN400 | PN16 | Maximum Movement Absorption

The double-sphere rubber joint has two EPDM spheres in series, allowing roughly double the axial and lateral absorption of a single-sphere design of the same DN. The compact face-to-face length makes it the preferred choice on long HVAC risers and where thermal growth is significant.

Technical Specifications

Body MaterialEPDM rubber, twin sphere
FlangeGalvanized ductile iron
Axial Compression12 - 38 mm depending on DN
Lateral Movement10 - 30 mm
Angular DeflectionUp to 30° (total of two spheres)
Working Pressure16 bar
Working Temp.-20°C to +110°C

Key Features

  • Twin-sphere design doubles movement absorption
  • Reduces number of joints required on long runs
  • Ideal for vertical building risers and large HVAC systems
  • Same flange standard as single-sphere — fully interchangeable
